MEDIAL EPICONDYLITIS

Medial epicondylitis, or golfers elbow, involves the muscles and tendons of your forearm.

Your forearm muscles flex your wrist and fingers. These forearm tendons — often called flexors — attach the muscles to bone. They attach on the medial epicondyle. When the connection point (the tendon) becomes stressed from over use or excessive load the result is pain and inflammation called lateral epicondylitis. This condition is often caused by chronic repetitive use but also from sudden injuries. The symptoms can range from mild to severe and acute to chronic. Treatment of this condition includes therapy designed to reduce inflammation and repair the damaged tissue.
